Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud said that China has been interested in the Teesta project for a long time. Teesta is a joint river of India and Bangladesh. We think it is good for us if India helps us in Teesta project.

He said this to reporters at an exchange meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday (June 27).

Dr. Hashan Mahmud said that Bangladesh maintained a balanced relationship with the outside world. Visit to China after the Prime Minister's visit to India is an expression of balanced relations. This important visit will further strengthen the relationship between the two countries.

The foreign minister said that there is still train movement between Bangladesh and India. We are thinking about regional communication. The train will go to Nepal and Bhutan through India. It will be good for everyone.

The minister said, during the BNP period, we were oppressed. BNP put up a barbed wire fence in front of our party office. They entered the CRI office and looted the goods.

He said, BNP talks about democracy but there is no democracy in their party. Sheikh Hasina saved democracy in Bangladesh.

He also said that we talks with the British government to bring back Tariq Rahman. We don't have a prisoner exchange agreement with them, that's the problem. However, if both countries agree, it is possible to bring him back. This is being discussed.
