Public Administration Minister Farhad Hossain said the government has no plan to raise the age limit to 35 years for entering government jobs.

He said this while replying while replying to a tabled query of MP Shamim Shahnewaz of Pirojpur-3 constituency in Parliament on Wednesday (July 3).

The minister said that if the govt increase the age limit, the number of job seekers against different posts will increase significantly. As a result, more competition can be created in the field of recruitment. This can cause frustration among candidates under the age of 30.

Farhad Hossain said that the number of vacancies has naturally decreased due to the increase in retirement age from 57 to 59 years. Meanwhile, increasing the age of entry into the job will increase the number of job seekers against different positions. As a result, more competition can be created. As a result, those candidates who are currently above 30 years of age have the opportunity to apply for the job, but may face frustration among the candidates under 30 years.
