The leave to appeal hearing will be held next Sunday (July 21) against the judgment given by the High Court declaring the circular to cancel the quota system in the first and second-class government jobs.
The High Court's special chamber passed the order on Thursday (July 18) evening.
Earlier in the afternoon, Law Minister Anisul Huq said, 'We agree in the principle in quota reform.' We are willing to discuss this with the students at any time.
Later, Attorney General A.M. Amin Uddin said, 'I have been instructed by the government to quickly hear the leave to appeal seeking cancellation of the quota.' We will mention leave to appeal for speedy hearing in the Appellate Division on Sunday (July 21) morning. Hopefully, the court will accept our application considering public importance. In the hearing, we will seek cancellation of the High Court's verdict.
Earlier, on July 14, the full copy of the judgment given by the High Court declaring the circular canceling the quota system in the first and second class government jobs as invalid has been published.
