Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, 'I had an idea that such an injury would come again.'

She said this during an exchange of views with editors, heads of news and senior journalists of various media outlets at the Prime Minister's office on Wednesday (July 24) afternoon at the initiative of Editors Guilds.

Referring to the recent disastrous situation surrounding the quota reform movement, the Prime Minister said, 'I knew that elections would not be allowed.' Still selected. It will not be acceptable after the election, we have been able to do that, we have been able to form the government. I had a feeling this kind of injury would come again.'

She said, 'It was understood that it was a big conspiracy. This is the person who left, this time we have already received information that the person will enter. All the hotels, where they can stay, have been brought under surveillance with detectives. But they were not there; They had moved to the outer periphery (adjacent area) of Dhaka.

She also said, 'They came from Shibir-Jamaat from all over Bangladesh.' At the same time, Chhatra Dol cadres were also active. As many incidents happened, they (BNP) were active.

Sheikh Hasina said, 'Another thing to note is that the body has not been found yet. But the statement of the State Department (of the United States) came, the body had fallen. Who gave them news of the body? Then who gave the order to dump the body, it is also necessary to know. But then the body started falling.

She said, 'Why they (the anti-discrimination student movement) created the opportunity like this, they have to answer the nation.' We sat with them again and again. The announcement was also made. I did not leave any of their demands unfulfilled. The quota reform they demanded, I gave much more than what they asked for. When their demands were accepted, why did they give these militants an opportunity? Quota activists will have to answer this to the nation one day. Why did it allow people to do such great destruction?'

She also said, 'We have always shown them sympathy. Always tried to keep them safe. But what happened can never be forgiven. The way the destruction was carried out, the clothes were made. Black pants, white shirt; False (fake) ID card, what's in the back bag, stones and sharp weapons. Forcing the imam to take miking in the mosque with weapons, this is the terrible face of militancy that has come before everyone, the nation, everyone should stand against it.

Sheikh Hasina said, 'I would request the countrymen, who have destroyed such a country, who today have damaged all the facilities that we have built for the socio-economic development of the common people, to increase their income, to facilitate their movement, to improve their quality of life. They broke up. (In these destructive activities) whose loss? Surely their loss. Here the people have to stand up, against this terrorism, against militancy, the people have to be vocal. Because they have never been able to do anything good in any country.

Highlighting the continuation of the democratic trend and maintaining a stable environment in the past years, the Prime Minister said, We have suppressed militancy and created a peaceful environment for a long time. That place was hit hard today.

Stating that there was no other option but to impose curfew in the recent situation, she said, 'I did not want such an incident to happen in our democratic system, we should impose curfew.' This is not what we want in a democratic environment. But today there was no way. There is no account of how many more bodies would have fallen. To tell the truth, we established democracy after a long struggle. The democratic trend continued, and the country was also able to improve. The development that we have done in just 15 years, who else has done it before?

Urging the media to prevent rumours by providing accurate news, the head of government said, 'It is true that many people listen to rumours.
Protect people by seeing the hands of lies, present news in such a way that people can know the correct information. I made digital Bangladesh, people got the benefits, but people also got the bad effects. Whatever information you have, you should spread it widely and create public opinion.

The press secretary of the Prime Minister moderated the meeting. Naeemul Islam Khan. Mozammel Babu, President of Editors Guilds gave the welcome address.

After that, senior journalist Abed Khan, Naeem Nizam, editor of Bangladesh Daily, Manjurul Islam, editor in chief of DBC television, Shyamal Dutt, editor of Bhorer paper and general secretary of Jatiya Press Club, Saiful Alam, editor of Jugantar, Farida Yasmin, president of Jatiya Press Club, gave speeches one after another.
