Decision to start Mobile internet on Sunday: Palak
State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak stated that a meeting will be held with mobile operators on Sunday (July 28) to launch mobile internet.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the 'Tree for Peace' program to plant one lakh trees across the country on the occasion of Sajib Wazed Joy's 54th birthday at Dak Bhaban in Agargaon of the capital on Saturday (July 27).
Palak said, tomorrow a decision will be taken to start mobile internet by meeting with mobile phone operators.
The state minister said we will meet with MTB tomorrow at 9 am. The 4G mobile network will be opened on Sunday-Monday if the meeting is satisfied.
He also said we have not shut down the internet. The internet was shut down due to the burning of three data centers and cables. Because of this, there has been a loss of Tk 500 crores in the telecom sector alone and hundreds of crores in total.
Director General of Postal Department Tarun Kanti Sikder was present in the program under the chairmanship of Information Technology Secretary Md. Samsul Arefin, Post and Telecommunication Secretary Dr. Mushfiqur Rahman and BTRC Chairman Engineer Mohiuddin Ahmed.
