Emergency opened in DMCH, outdoor closed
Doctors announced a 'complete shutdown' in connection with the beating of three doctors of Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital. However, although the emergency department has been opened after ensuring the arrest of attackers and the safety of doctors, outdoor services are still closed.
The ward master of the outdoor department Kazi Abu Saeed confirmed this. He said outdoor services have been stopped since this morning due to an attack on doctors.
Outdoor Gynecology Department Surgeon Dr Rajib said, 'We announced a complete shutdown in connection with the attack on our doctors. Later, emergency department services were launched with assurances of security and the arrest of the culprits within 48 hours. However, till our demands are met, the outdoors will remain closed.
Incidentally, on the morning of August 31, Bangladesh University of Business Technology (BUBT) student Ahsanul Islam Dipto died due to the negligence of doctors at Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital. Later, three doctors of the neurosurgery department of DMC were beaten up.
Following the incident, doctors gave an ultimatum to identify and arrest the culprits after seeing the CCTV footage.
