Ex-Minister Shajahan Khan Placed on 7-day Remand

The court granted a 7-day remand to Awami League presidium member and former minister Shajahan Khan in the case of student murder in the quota reform movement.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbub Ahmed gave this order on Friday (September 6).

On this day, the accused was brought to the CMM court in Dhaka and requested to be remanded for 10 days for proper investigation of the case. After the hearing, the court granted a 7-day remand.

Earlier, Shajahan Khan was arrested from a residence in the capital's Dhanmondi area on Thursday (September 6) at midnight.

On August 4, a teenager named Abdul Motaleb (14) was shot dead in the student movement at Dhanmondi police station area.

On August 26, Abdul Motin, father of Motaleb, filed the murder case with Dhanmondi Police Station against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 175 others including Shajahan Khan.

In addition, 250 to 300 unidentified people were accused. Shajahan Khan is accused number 23 in this case.
