The Chief Adviser of the interim government, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, has left New York for Dhaka after attending the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly and participating in various high-level bilateral meetings and events.

Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser, Shafiqul Alam, stated that a Qatar Airways commercial flight carrying the Chief Adviser and his delegation departed New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport at 9:30 PM local time on Friday (September 27) en route to Dhaka. The flight is expected to land at Dhaka’s Shahjalal International Airport at 2:15 AM Bangladesh time on September 29.

Shafiqul Alam noted that this year’s participation in the UN General Assembly was the most successful trip by any head of government from Bangladesh.

During the visit, Dr. Muhammad Yunus met with U.S. President Joe Biden, as well as heads of state and government from 12 countries, along with the leaders of various international organizations. He also took part in 40 high-level meetings on the sidelines. It is anticipated that the Chief Adviser’s extensive activities during this trip will significantly advance Bangladesh’s economic and diplomatic relationships and partnerships with the international community. The Chief Adviser arrived in New York on September 23 to attend the UN General Assembly and had a very busy schedule during the four-day visit.
