Electoral Roadmap After Reform Proposals: Foreign Affairs Adviser

Foreign Affairs Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain stated that the interim government will provide an electoral roadmap after receiving reform proposals from six commissions.

He made this statement during a press conference held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday evening (October 1).

Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain said, "The electoral roadmap will follow the reform proposals from the commissions. This government will not stay beyond the necessary time for reforms."

Regarding the issue of Indian visas, he mentioned, "Bangladesh and India aim to maintain good relations for mutual interests. The two heads of government may meet next month at the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) Summit. Additionally, India will soon fully resume all types of visas."

On relations with Pakistan, the foreign affairs adviser said, "If Pakistan offers a formal apology, relations between Islamabad and Dhaka can move forward."

He also commented that controversial remarks made by Indian political leaders about Bangladesh are unacceptable.
