BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has reiterated that the BNP does not want to see a "Minus Two" formula, similar to the one seen during 1/11, being implemented again. He stated, "We are giving time to the interim government, but for how long? We will give time until a fair and logical election can be held."

He further emphasized, "We do not want to see depoliticization, minus two, or extremism. What we want is liberal democracy."

Fakhrul made these remarks during a teachers' rally at the Engineers Institute in Dhaka on Saturday afternoon (October 5).

He also mentioned that the country has witnessed change at the cost of many lives. There has been temporary victory, but to sustain it, unity is crucial. He noted that as the government is changing, people are coming forward with various demands. "Previously, people sold land to pay bribes to Awami League MPs for jobs. If we fail to change the country, the nation will be deeply disappointed."

Addressing party leaders and activists, Fakhrul warned them against becoming complacent, saying, "We haven't come to power yet, so don’t float on air thinking we have. We must remain united."

He accused the Awami League of destroying the country's education system, stating, "Even after 53 years of independence, the weakest area of the country remains the education system. The party that claimed to be the vanguard of democracy has destroyed it. The fallen government has created mountains of inequality in the country. We have outlined all problems and solutions in our 31-point proposal."

Fakhrul emphasized the need to eradicate the "ghost of corruption," saying, "Without doing so, nothing will be achieved. We have not failed, we have won before, and we will win again."
