Former Aviation and Tourism Minister Faruk Khan Arrested

Muhammad Faruk Khan, former Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism and a Presidium member of the Awami League, has been arrested.

On the night of Monday (October 14), the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested him from his residence in Dhaka.

Rezaual Karim Mallik, Additional Commissioner of the Detective Branch (DB) of Police, confirmed the arrest. He stated that after being detained by RAB, Khan was handed over to the DB police.

Notably, Lieutenant Colonel (Retd.) Faruk Khan is a suspect in multiple cases related to casualties during the anti-discrimination student movement. He has been elected six times as a Member of Parliament from the Gopalganj-1 constituency.
