Bangladeshi Killed in Israeli Airstrike in Lebanon
Mohammad Nizam Uddin, a Bangladeshi expatriate and remittance worker, has died in an Israeli airstrike in Lebanon. He was a resident of the Brahmanbaria district.
The incident took place in Beirut on Saturday night, November 2, local time.
The news was confirmed by Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Lebanon, Air Vice Marshal Javed Tanvir Khan Mohammad Nizam Uddin.
He said, “It is with great sadness that I inform you that Mohammad Nizam Uddin, one of our expatriate remittance workers in Lebanon, has passed away. He was 31 years old. On Saturday, November 2, at 3:23 p.m., while on his way to work in the Hazmieh area of Beirut, he stopped at a coffee shop, where he was struck by an airstrike and died at the scene. (Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un).”
The ambassador added that Mohammad Nizam Uddin’s father is Mohammad Abdul Kuddus, and his mother is Anwara Begum. He was from the Khadera area of Kasba upazila in Brahmanbaria district.
During this time, Bangladesh’s ambassador to Lebanon expressed deep condolences over the death of remittance worker Nizam Uddin.
He prayed for the departed soul and extended his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family members.
