Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed has expressed deep concern over the egg-throwing incident at a judge and the unwanted situation at the district court.

The Supreme Court issued a press release in this regard on Thursday (November 28).

According to a press release, the unprecedented incident that took place on the Supreme Court premises on Wednesday (November 27) is unwanted. At the same time, the Chief Justice also expressed deep concern over the situation that has arisen in the country's district courts.

The Chief Justice also mentioned in the release that despite all the adversities and unwanted situations, judicial services are continuing to be provided in the country's courts. It was also stated that necessary steps have been taken to deal with any kind of situation in the future.

A group of lawyers threw eggs at High Court Justice Ashraful Kamal in the courtroom. The incident took place on Wednesday (November 27) at the High Court bench of Justice Md Ashraful Kamal and Justice Kazi Waliul Islam.

Eyewitness lawyers said that a group of lawyers entered the courtroom during the trial on that bench. They said to Justice Md Ashraful Kamal, "You have made negative comments about former President Ziaur Rahman as a judge. If you still hold that opinion, you have no right to conduct the trial."

At one stage, eggs were thrown at Justice Md Ashraful Kamal by some of the lawyers. However, the thrown eggs hit the desk in front of the judge's seat. Then Justice Md Ashraful Kamal and Justice Kazi Waliul Islam left the courtroom and went to the private room.

It is known that in 2016, in the verdict of the Sixteenth Amendment case, Justice Md Ashraful Kamal made several comments about Major General Ziaur Rahman in his observations. This led to widespread criticism.
