The Meteorological Department has forecasted an increase in day and night temperatures and rain across the country.
This information was revealed in the 72-hour forecast starting Tuesday (January 28) at 9:00 am.
According to the forecast, the extended portion of the subcontinental high-pressure system is located over West Bengal and adjoining areas. Meanwhile, the seasonal low-pressure system lies over the South Bay of Bengal and extends to the northeastern Bay of Bengal.
Under these conditions, during the 24 hours from 9:00 am Tuesday, the temperature (day and night) across the country may slightly increase. Moderate to dense fog may occur in some areas along river basins from late night to morning, while light to moderate fog may occur elsewhere.
From 9:00 am Wednesday, during the following 24 hours, the weather across the country may remain dry with partly cloudy skies temporarily. Light to moderate fog may occur across the country from late night to morning, with a slight increase in both night and day temperatures.
Furthermore, from 9:00 am Thursday, during the next 24 hours, night temperatures across the country may rise by 1 to 3°C, and day temperatures may increase slightly. During this period, light rain or drizzle is likely in a few places in Dhaka, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions, as well as in the Cumilla region. Light to moderate fog may persist across the country from late night to morning.
