The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued a warning for possible storms with wind speeds reaching up to 60 kilometers per hour in six regions of the country.
In a weather forecast issued for inland river ports, valid until 1:00 am tonight, the department said that temporary gusty or squally winds from the west or northwest at speeds between 45 and 60 kilometers per hour, accompanied by rain or thundershowers, may sweep over Faridpur, Madaripur, Khulna, Barishal, Cumilla, and Noakhali regions.
River ports in these areas have been advised to display cautionary signal number 1.
In a separate forecast valid until 9:00 am on Sunday, it is mentioned that both day and night temperatures across the country are expected to remain nearly unchanged. Scattered thundershowers may occur in parts of Rangpur and Sylhet divisions, while isolated showers may affect areas in Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Khulna, and Dhaka divisions.
Elsewhere in the country, the weather is likely to remain mostly dry with partly cloudy skies.
