Armed forces will remain to support administration in election: CEC

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda said, armed forces will be deployed to extend all-out support to the civil administration to keep the law and order situation under control during election.

He said about his decision while declaring the election schedule through his address to the nation on Thursday.

The CEC said, to conduct the election primary process was completed to appoint seven lakh officials in different stages. Executive and judicial magistrates will be appointed in each electoral area.

KM Nurul Huda said, more than six lakh members will be deployed from different law enforcement agencies. There will be members from Police, BGB, RAB, Coast Guard, Ansar and VDP. Special attention will be given to their skills, impartiality and dedication.

He said, legal action will be taken against the responsible officials if election is tainted following their failure to discharge duties.
