Elon Musk, the renowned American entrepreneur and CEO of SpaceX, has received an invitation from Dr Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Advisor of Bangladesh's Interim Government, to visit the country.
Along with the invitation, Dr Yunus has also proposed the launch of the Starlink satellite service in Bangladesh within the next 90 working days.
This information came to light on Sunday, 23 February, based on a letter sent to Musk by the Chief Advisor. The letter was dispatched on Thursday, 19 February.
In the letter, Dr Yunus expressed that during his visit, Musk would have the opportunity to meet young men and women, who are expected to be the primary beneficiaries of this cutting-edge technology.
He further noted that integrating Starlink into Bangladesh's infrastructure would bring a transformative change, especially for the country's energetic youth, rural and marginalized women, as well as remote and underserved communities.
In addition, the Chief Advisor has instructed his senior representative, Dr Khalilur Rahman, to work closely with the SpaceX team to ensure that the necessary tasks are completed swiftly, to launch Starlink in Bangladesh within 90 working days.
Earlier on 13 February, the Chief Advisor had an extensive phone conversation with Musk, where they discussed potential future collaborations and the progress of launching the Starlink satellite internet service in Bangladesh.
