Chief Advisor of the interim government, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, has departed from London for Dhaka after a four-day visit to the United Kingdom.
He, along with his companions, left on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight around 12:15 AM on Saturday (June 14) (7:15 PM local London time).
Abul Kalam Azad Majumder, the Chief Advisor's Deputy Press Secretary, confirmed the matter.
During his visit, Dr. Muhammad Yunus received the 'King Charles III Harmony Award 2025' on Thursday (June 12). He was given this award in recognition of his lifelong work for human welfare.
On Friday (June 13), the Chief Advisor held a productive meeting with BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman. A joint statement released after the meeting stated that the meeting was held in a very cordial atmosphere. It is understood that both agreed on elections in February.
Additionally, during this four-day trip, the Chief Advisor met with several important figures, including the Speaker of the UK House of Commons, and participated in various programs.
Earlier, Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus arrived in London on June 10 at 7:05 AM local time on an Emirates Airlines flight. His entourage included Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur and Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Dr. Abdul Momen, among others.
