During the meeting, Tarique Rahman proposed to the Chief Advisor that elections be organized before Ramadan next year. He also mentioned that the party chairperson, Begum Khaleda Zia, believes that holding elections at that time would be beneficial.

The Chief Advisor stated that he has announced that elections will be held by the first half of April next year. He added that if all preparations are completed, elections could even be organized in the week before the start of Ramadan in 2026. In that scenario, sufficient progress on reforms and judicial matters would need to be achieved by that time.

The statement further mentioned that Tarique Rahman welcomed this position of the Chief Advisor and thanked him on behalf of the party. The Chief Advisor also thanked Tarique Rahman for the fruitful discussion.
