Tarique Rahman Assured All Necessary Medical Treatment, Support for Abused Child

BNP acting chairman, Tarique Rahman, spoke over the phone with the mother of the abused child from Magura. During the conversation, he assured her of all necessary medical treatment and support for the child.

On Saturday (March 8), while speaking with the child's mother, Tarique Rahman assigned Dhaka South Jubo Dal's member secretary, Robiul Islam Nayan, to oversee the matter.  

Later, Nayan told journalists that Tarique Rahman had taken full responsibility for the child's treatment and the well-being of the family. He instructed them to ensure that the impoverished family does not feel helpless in any way. Additionally, he emphasized that the perpetrators must not escape justice.

Magura Sadar Police Station's Officer-in-Charge, Ayub Ali, stated that no case had been filed regarding the incident yet, but the process was underway.  

Meanwhile, although two people were already in police custody in connection with the child abuse case, on Saturday morning, the police also took the child's elder sister's father-in-law, husband, elder brother-in-law, and mother-in-law into custody for questioning.  

Earlier, sources from Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) reported that a four-member medical board had been formed for the child's treatment. DMCH has also taken responsibility for covering all medical expenses.

DMCH Director, Brigadier General Md Asaduzzaman, stated that the physical condition of the child, who was a victim of rape, was extremely critical. The child's **Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS)** level had dropped to four. She remained in a critical state and had not regained consciousness.  

He further mentioned that the child had sustained injuries to her throat during the attempted murder, making it difficult for her to breathe. She also had a fever, and there was a possibility of pneumonia.  

Meanwhile, the child's uncle reported that she was placed on life support on Friday night and remained there in a critical condition.  

On Thursday (March 6), the third-grade student was raped by her elder sister's father-in-law in **Nanduali Mathpara**, Magura Sadar. After the assault, she was initially taken to the district hospital, then transferred to Faridpur Medical College Hospital, and later to DMCH for further treatment.
