A fire has broken out on the third floor of a building next to Shahjalal Islami Bank in the capital's Motijheel area. Talha Bin Jasim, media officer of the Fire Service, confirmed that four units from the Siddique Bazar Fire Station are working to bring the fire under control.
The incident occurred on Saturday (17 May) afternoon. After receiving the fire report at 5:17 pm, four units from the Siddique Bazar Fire Station arrived at the scene around 6:30 pm and began firefighting operations.
Khaleda Yasmin, the duty officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters control room, stated that the fire was reported at 6:17 pm in a residential building next to the Shahjalal Islami Bank in Motijheel. The first unit reached the scene at 6:25 pm and began efforts to control the fire, with two more units joining later.
She was unable to provide immediate information on the cause of the fire or the extent of damage.
