Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said on Sunday that the law and order situation across the country has improved significantly over the last 18 months.
He further asserted that there is no risk of the security environment deteriorating as the nation approaches the next general election.
The Home Adviser further said that the election rallies and processions will increase as the polls draw nearer.
He urged caution regarding earthquake preparedness and stated that authorities are actively working to develop an early warning system, noting that Bangladesh currently does not possess one.
The Home Adviser emphasized strict adherence to building codes and urged RAJUK to carefully review proposals for buildings on filled-in waterbodies.
Regarding the Fire Service and Civil Defence, he said they have responded promptly to minor incidents, but the true effectiveness of preparedness can only be assessed after a major earthquake.
