
The United States government has joined in mourning the loss of Sharif Osman Hadi who was the spokesperson of Inqilab Moncho and an aspiring independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency in the upcoming 13th National Parliament Election 2026.
Through a press release from its Dhaka embassy on Friday, the US expressed its grief over the passing of the youth leader and spokesperson, who died after being shot by an armed assailant.
The statement said: "The U.S. Embassy joins the people of Bangladesh in mourning the loss of youth leader Sharif Osman Hadi and offers our deepest condolences to his family, friends and supporters."
Hadi was shot while traveling in a battery-run auto-rickshaw on Box Culvert Road, within the jurisdiction of the Paltan Police Station.
After battling for his life for six days, he breathed his last on Thursday night while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Singapore.
