The Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in Dhaka has announced a temporary 24-hour ban on the visitors and companions, except ticketed passengers, effective from Wednesday evening.
According to a press release issued by the airport authority on Tuesday, the restriction will begin at 6 pm on Wednesday (December 24) and remain in force until 6 pm (December 25).
The measure, signed by the Executive Director of HSIA, has been implemented for "special operational and security reasons" with the aim of ensuring passenger services, security and operational discipline.
During this period, access to the airport premises will be strictly limited to passengers holding valid air tickets.
The airport authority has urged all passengers and relevant stakeholders to extend their full cooperation to ensure the smooth implementation of this temporary security protocol.
