In a significant cross-border diplomatic gesture, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has extended her warmest congratulations to Bangladesh Nationalist Party's (BNP) Chairman Tarique Rahman following his party's decisive victory in the 13th National Parliament Election and the concurrent constitutional Referendum.

Taking to the social media platform X on Friday, Banerjee addressed the BNP leader as "Tarique-Bhai," lauding his leadership in guiding the party back to power.

Beyond the electoral success, Banerjee expressed a strong desire for the continued strengthening of bilateral relations, voicing her hope that the bond between India and Bangladesh remains consistently cordial and friendly under the new administration.
