Pedestrians Greet PM Tarique as He Follows Traffic Rules for Second Day

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman attended his office at the Secretariat for the second consecutive day on Thursday, notably opting to travel from his Gulshan Avenue residence while strictly adhering to regular traffic signals.

The journey, which spanned approximately 41 minutes, began at 8:34 am when the Prime Minister departed in his personal vehicle. 

According to Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon, the motorcade halted at four separate traffic signals where lights had turned red, eventually arriving at the Secretariat at 9:15 am.

Upon his arrival at Building No. 1, the Prime Minister was received by Cabinet Secretary Dr. Nasimul Ghani and Principal Secretary ABM Abdus Sattar. 

The unconventional commute drew significant public attention, with Rumon noting that pedestrians along the route applauded and welcomed the Prime Minister as his vehicle waited at intersections.

The Prime Minister responded to the crowd by waving from his seat.

Regarding the public reaction, Rumon stated, “In some cases, people came close to the vehicle to greet him, and some even took selfies on their mobile phones.” 

After entering his office and taking his seat, the Prime Minister immediately began his official duties. 

Rumon added that the Prime Minister enquired which ministers, secretaries, and officials were present at their respective workplaces, signaling a focus on administrative punctuality and presence.
