Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury has been admitted to United Hospital in the capital’s Gulshan area after falling ill on Saturday.
The veteran politician and BNP Standing Committee member is currently under close medical observation, though his office reports that his condition is stabilizing.
According to his personal assistant, Shahiduzzaman, the Minister began feeling unwell yesterday, prompting his hospitalization.
"Sir’s condition has improved and he is feeling much better today," Shahiduzzaman stated on Sunday, adding that doctors are monitoring him closely to ensure a full recovery.
Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, who represents the Chattogram-11 constituency, was elected in the 13th parliamentary election held earlier this year. He was officially sworn into Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s cabinet on February 17, taking charge of the crucial Finance and Planning portfolios.
