The health intervention triggered heightened security protocols around New Delhi’s central demonstration hub, Jantar Mantar, where Wangchuk had been leading a hunger strike alongside students and members affiliated with the Cockroach Janta Party.

The demonstration targets sweeping systematic overhauls of India's national evaluation frameworks and demands the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan following widespread anger over prior question paper leaks.

Protesters are also demanding financial restitution for the families of students who tragically died by suicide following the test leaks and subsequent results.

The 59-year-old engineer and educational campaigner has emerged as the central figure of the current youth movement.

The campaign itself was sparked in May after Supreme Court Chief Justice Surya Kant drew a parallel comparing certain unemployed youths to "cockroaches" during a legal proceeding on a separate issue.

Embracing the label as a testament to durability, organizers weaponized the remark to build a satirical political front that quickly amassed over 21 million subscribers on Instagram.

According to statements from the Delhi Police, Wangchuk’s transfer to the medical facility was carried out based on professional medical evaluations and a direct judicial mandate after his vital signs deteriorated severely from the multi-week fast.

Law enforcement confirmed a minor physical altercation occurred when a group of demonstrators attempted to block medical teams and officers from moving the activist out of the venue.

Conversely, representatives from the Cockroach Janta Party issued an online alert claiming that Wangchuk had been "forcefully abducted" by state authorities without obtaining prior clearance from the activist or his immediate family.

Meanwhile, Abhijeet Dipke, the foundational leader of the Cockroach Janta Party, initiated his own indefinite fast on Saturday to sustain the momentum of the anti-leak strike.

In response to the growing tensions, state administrators stationed additional police battalions and paramilitary units at the core site while setting up heavy iron barricades around the perimeter.

Police leadership maintained that the expanded security presence was purely a preventative action to ensure public safety, while formally requesting the remaining student groups to maintain order and align with law enforcement directives.
