The government has pledged comprehensive support for expatriate citizens grappling with visa expirations and widespread flight cancellations caused by ongoing global conflicts.

Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare Ariful Haque Chowdhury announced the development on Saturday, emphasizing that the government is fully mobilized to mitigate the distress of overseas workers.

"The government is committed to resolving the various problems faced by expatriates," the Minister said while addressing a Holi festival program organized by the For Manipuri Culture and Arts in Sylhet.

He confirmed that the Ministry has officially launched a dedicated hotline to provide real-time assistance to those affected by travel disruptions.

"Expatriates facing such issues can contact the ministry, and assistance will be provided according to the government’s capacity," he added.

Addressing the recent casualties involving Bangladeshi nationals in the Middle East, the Minister noted that the government had acted swiftly.

"As soon as news reached about those who were killed in the Middle East conflict, the governments of the concerned countries were immediately informed," he stated.

He further assured that the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare is monitoring the evolving regional situation on a daily basis, with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman providing direct oversight of the crisis management efforts.

During the event, which was attended by local dignitaries and members of the Manipuri community, the Minister also took the opportunity to address domestic community concerns, promising effective government steps to resolve local issues faced by the Manipuri people.
