Dilara Hafiz, the wife of Jatiya Sangsad Speaker and BNP leader Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, Bir Bikram, passed away today while undergoing treatment in Singapore. She was 78.

According to Shairul Kabir Khan, a member of the BNP media cell, she breathed her last at 1:29 pm (Singapore local time) at the Singapore General Hospital.

Dilara Hafiz is survived by her husband, a son, a daughter, grandchildren, and numerous relatives and well-wishers.

The body is scheduled to be flown back to Bangladesh tomorrow evening. Her first funeral prayer (Namaz-e-Janaza) will be held at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad at 11 am on March 30.

Following a second Janaza at the Cantonment Central Mosque after Zuhr prayers, she will be laid to rest at the Banani Military Graveyard.
