The mortal remains of Jamil Ahmed Limon, a Bangladeshi student who was killed in Tampa, Florida, were dispatched from Orlando International Airport on the evening of May 2.

The repatriation comes after the successful completion of all necessary legal formalities in the United States.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the process was supervised by Bangladesh Consul General in Miami Sehely Sabrin and Consul Thoing A.

Limon’s body is expected to arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 8:40 am on May 4 via Dubai.

Since the recovery of the body on April 25, the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington, D.C., and the Consulate General in Miami have coordinated with his family, the University of South Florida, local expatriates, and law enforcement to expedite the return.

Before the flight, a funeral prayer was held on April 30 at the Islamic Society of Tampa Bay Area Mosque, attended by students, family, and consular officials.

In a related development, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office confirmed the identification of another Bangladeshi student, Nahida Sultana Bristy, on May 1.

The Bangladesh Consulate in Miami has obtained her family's consent and requested the release of her remains for repatriation through the same funeral home.

Officials confirmed that both the Embassy and Consulate are working jointly to ensure Bristy's body is sent home as soon as possible.
