Prime Minister’s Adviser on Policy and Strategy Affairs Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman has stated on Tuesday that his sudden departure from Delhi Airport without entering India was an intentional, immediate protest.

Speaking at a press briefing in the conference room of the Information Department at the Secretariat, Dr. Zahed addressed journalists' queries regarding the incident, explaining that the nature of his travel demanded a firm response.

He emphasized that because he was traveling as a formal representative of the government rather than a private citizen, it was vital to register an immediate protest over the treatment he encountered upon arrival at the airport.

The adviser further revealed that while Indian airport authorities subsequently made efforts to grant him entry so he could proceed with his scheduled activities, he ultimately chose to reject the clearance and cut his trip short.

Dr. Zahed noted that in his official capacity as an adviser to the Prime Minister, he felt it was necessary to use his decision to return to Bangladesh to send a clear, state-level signal on behalf of the government.
