Prime Minister Tarique Rahman concluded a busy final day of his official visit to China by touring the Museum of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in Beijing on Friday.

Upon his arrival at the museum, which houses permanent and comprehensive exhibitions detailing the history of the CPC, the Prime Minister was received by the museum’s curator, who escorted him on a guided tour.

Accompanied by his wife, Dr. Zubaida Rahman, and other members of his entourage, the Prime Minister toured the galleries and experienced an immersive audio-visual coaster show before signing the visitors' book.

He departed the museum at 12:40 pm local time for the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, with the curator seeing him off.

Earlier in the morning, the Prime Minister held a high-level meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People.

Prior to this engagement, Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) of China, called on the Bangladesh premier at the same venue.

The Prime Minister had arrived at the Great Hall of the People around 9:30 am following a formal tribute at Tiananmen Square.

Upon his arrival at the square at 9:10 am local time, a smartly turned-out contingent of the Chinese Armed Forces accorded the Prime Minister a state salute.

During the ceremony at the Monument to the People's Heroes, Tarique Rahman paid his respects by placing a special red-green wreath.

As the national anthems of the two countries were played and the bugle sounded the last post, the Prime Minister stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of the Chinese revolutionary heroes.

The Prime Minister is currently concluding a four-day official visit to China at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart, Li Qiang.

His maiden official foreign tour began on June 21 with a visit to Malaysia, after which he traveled to the Chinese city of Dalian on Monday night to attend the World Economic Forum's Summer Davos 2026.

After participating in various events there for two days, he arrived in Beijing on Wednesday afternoon. He is scheduled to depart Beijing for Dhaka at 5 pm on this day.
