A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been formalized to set up the 'China-Bangladesh Vocational Education, Training and Research Center'.

The pact was concluded on Friday during the 'China-Bangladesh Education Exchange Conference', which was hosted by the Jiangxi Provincial Government alongside Jiangxi Science and Technology Normal University in China.

Md. Daud Mia, Secretary of the Technical and Madrasa Education Division, executed the MoU for Bangladesh, whereas Professor Zheng Pengwu of Jiangxi Science and Technology Normal University signed on behalf of the Chinese side.

Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon and Prime Minister's Adviser on Education Dr. Mahdi Amin attended the ceremony.

During the conference, three primary cooperative platforms were officially launched.

The Education Minister and Fan Honghui, Deputy Director of the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Education, jointly inaugurated the 'China-Bangladesh Vocational Teacher Training Center'.

Simultaneously, Prime Minister’s Adviser on Education Mahdi Amin and university Professor Pei Hongwei opened the 'Bangladesh Vocational Education Research Center', while Secretary Md. Daud Mia and Professor Zheng Pengwu unveiled the 'Bangladesh Chinese Language Skill Development Center'.

Speaking at the gathering, the Education Minister remarked, “The young population of Bangladesh is the country’s greatest strength. Through quality technical education and modern technological training, they can be transformed into a world-class skilled workforce.”

He further noted that leveraging China’s advanced expertise and technological backing will elevate Bangladesh’s educational landscape to unprecedented levels.

“Technical and vocational education must remain closely aligned with the real needs of industry and employment,” he emphasized, while urging deeper bilateral collaboration regarding curriculum design, educator instruction, organizational partnerships, cutting-edge technology, practical instruction, and job-focused learning.

Mahdi Amin stated, “Today’s signing of the MoU marks the beginning of a new chapter in Bangladesh-China cooperation in technical education. Our main objective is to transform education into skills, skills into employment, and employment into economic opportunities.”

Delegates from 19 academic institutions, technical bodies, and enterprises hailing from Jiangxi Province participated in the event, with both nations committing to forge a lasting alliance anchored in industry-academia integration, educator coaching, collaborative research, and student exchange programs.
