Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Saturday vowed that his administration will exert its maximum endeavors to realize the dreams and expectations of individuals who laid down their lives or sustained injuries throughout historic battles for national freedom, democratic governance and popular rights.

"Despite various practical realities, we will make our utmost efforts to fulfil the aspirations of those who sacrificed their lives in 1971, those who were killed or suffered in different movements to establish democracy since independence, and those who were killed or injured in the July uprising," he stated.

The premier addressed an assembly convened inside the Karabi Hall at the Prime Minister's Office located in Tejgaon, organized for the distribution of employment placement letters to relatives impacted by forced abductions, homicides and the July-August movement.

He affirmed that the administration will not step back from its pledges despite facing hurdles in executing every single expectation inside the anticipated schedule.

"But we will not retreat from this path, InshaAllah," PM Tarique declared.

He noted that while some observers might categorize the state's backing for the grieving households as mere charity or assistance, he perceives the matter differently.

"It is because we have the support and cooperation of these people and their families that the government is working with full commitment, enthusiasm and determination to fulfil the aspirations of those who sacrificed their lives," the Prime Minister explained.

"You are our source of inspiration, encouragement and strength," he conveyed directly to the relatives.

The head of government asserted that the administration will persist in soliciting their backing and fulfilling their hopes for as long as citizens repose trust in the cabinet to steer the nation.

Addressing the audience under the theme that they were, are, and will remain side by side, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman pledged that the government will endeavor to support individuals and households regardless of partisan political loyalties or personal backgrounds if they contributed toward reclaiming democracy.

"Whatever limitations we may have, we will continue trying to stand beside these people and their families," he remarked.

Acknowledging that the grief and losses endured by these households can never genuinely be undone, the Prime Minister noted, "We were with you, we are with you and, InshaAllah, we will remain with you."

He appealed to the attendees to encourage and back the administration to ensure it can successfully execute the ideals cherished by the fallen heroes and democracy advocates.

Reflecting on the July-August mass uprising, Prime Minister Tarique observed that the event carried profound emotional weight, uniting families of loved ones who ought to have been present but were absent.

"The 20 crore people of Bangladesh have been freed from a fascist situation through the circumstances that led to their absence," he stated.

Prime Minister offered prayers for citizens still unaccounted for, observing that only the Almighty is aware of their current whereabouts or condition.

The Prime Minister's voice turned visibly emotional while interacting with the victims' relatives.

"Naturally, seeing you before me today makes me emotional," he confessed.

Prime Minister Tarique emphasized that the sacrifices extended by the families and their departed kin were dedicated entirely to the country and its populace, ensuring the government will pursue the objectives underlying those sacrifices with full dedication.

A collective group of 74 individuals collected their employment documents during the ceremony, comprising relatives of forced disappearance and murder victims, wounded combatants, and family members of those martyred during the July movement.

The premier personally handed documents to 10 attendees, pausing to converse individually and inquire about their well-being.

The beneficiaries collecting letters featured Ishfaq Ahmed, brother of enforced disappearance victim Iftekhar Ahmed Dinar; Shammi Sultana, spouse of Khaled Hossain Sohel; Alal Ahmed, a sight-impaired fighter injured during the July protests; Momtaz Hossain, father of martyred Anvir; Jartaj Parvin, mother of martyred Ahnaf; and injured July combatant Kazi Saimum Siraj.

The honorees conveyed heartfelt appreciation toward the Prime Minister while demanding stern accountability and justice for those orchestrating forced abductions and killings.

The proceedings were moderated by Atikur Rahman Rumon, Additional Press Secretary to the Prime Minister.

Dignitaries seated at the gathering included Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Gani, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister ABM Abdus Sattar, Press Secretary Saleh Shibly, Deputy Press Secretaries Zahidul Islam Rony, Hasan Shiplu, Suzauddaula, and Shahadat Shadhin, Assistant Press Secretaries AKM Nazmul Haque, alongside Shahriar Pamir and Moksedul Momin Mithun representing Amra BNP Poribar, among others.
