Dr. Zubaida Rahman, wife of Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, met with US First Lady Melania Trump during a special event held in New York on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The meeting took place on Tuesday (September 22) at The St. Regis New York in Manhattan. Dr. Zubaida Rahman attended the gathering at the personal invitation of Melania Trump.

Hosted by the White House, the event centered around Melania Trump’s initiative, "Fostering the Future Together," and brought together global first spouses and dignitaries. The initiative focuses on expanding educational and technological opportunities for children while fostering a safe digital environment.

Discussions during the program highlighted children's education, digital skills, artificial intelligence (AI), and online safety. Participants also emphasized the importance of enhancing international cooperation through public-private partnerships to shape a better future for children.

This follows an earlier appearance by Dr. Zubaida Rahman in Washington in March of this year, where she also attended the "Fostering the Future Together" global summit at Melania Trump's invitation. That summit drew leaders and first spouses from more than 45 nations.

During the March summit, Dr. Zubaida Rahman outlined Bangladesh's perspective on critical issues including children's education, healthcare, AI, and the safe usage of technology. She stressed the necessity of increasing access to education and healthcare alongside promoting the responsible use of tech and artificial intelligence.

At Tuesday's New York event, Melania Trump announced that the "Fostering the Future Together" initiative has now expanded to include 57 countries, continuing its core mission of empowering children through education and technology on a global scale.
