"Prior to the rally, at 8:30 AM, the Prime Minister and senior leaders of the party will place floral wreaths at the mausoleum of martyred President Ziaur Rahman and late former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar to pay their respects," he added.

The President's Message
In his message, President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir called for building a democratic, justice-based, humane, and secure Bangladesh. He stated that inspired by the spirit of November 7 and committed to protecting independence and sovereignty, everyone—regardless of party affiliation—must unite to put an end to corruption, discrimination, and all conspiracies.
The President stated in his message that to realize the hopes and aspirations of November 7, the state will be operated on the basis of the "Bangladesh First" philosophy in the interest of the country and its people. National interest, equality, fairness, and the practice of democracy will receive top priority.
He extended sincere greetings and congratulations to all citizens of the country on the occasion of the "Great National Revolution and Solidarity Day." At the same time, the President paid homage to all the valiant freedom fighters and patriotic citizens who participated in the landmark sepoy-people revolution of November 7, 1975.
He stated in his message that historic November 7 is an unforgettable day in our national life and a crucial turning point in the country's history. During that difficult period of clientist misrule, corruption, anarchy, and hegemonistic conspiracies, the country regained its independence and sovereignty through the united revolution of the sepoys and the public. All conspiracies were foiled. The proclaimer of independence, martyred President Ziaur Rahman Bir Uttam, was freed from captivity. With the unequivocal support of the people, the grave responsibility of running the state and overcoming the national crisis was entrusted to him. In this critical juncture of the nation, his role was that of a savior.
Describing this solidarity between sepoys and citizens as an unprecedented awakening energized by the spirit of independence, the President noted that our armed forces have consistently demonstrated solidarity and unity in protecting the country's independence, sovereignty, and the rights of the people. That exact same spirit was reawakened during the mass uprising of 2024. At that time, through the firm unity of people from all walks of life—students, men, women, and members of the armed forces alike—sixteen years of fascist rule were brought to an end. The beloved homeland was once again saved from the disaster of turning into a puppet state.
The Prime Minister's Message
Marking the occasion, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman stated that the historic Sepoy-People's Revolution of November 7, 1975, charted the path for Bangladesh. He said, "Those who wanted to turn Bangladesh into a puppet state, usurp the democratic political rights of the people to establish a one-party autocratic rule in the country, and tarnish the glory of the armed forces—the symbol of the nation's valor, courage, and honor—were defeated on November 7 through the historic revolution of the patriotic sepoys and public."
In his message, the Prime Minister stated, "On November 7, the sepoys and general public unitedly thwarted all conspiracies against the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh. In the history of our nation, this historic day was a day to identify the enemies and allies of Bangladesh."
He noted that in discussions regarding every historical context of Bangladesh, from its birth and the War of Liberation onward, a particular proverb is noteworthy: "Always staying engrossed in the past leaves one eye blind, while forgetting the past leaves both eyes blind." Therefore, just as it is unwise to remain absorbed in history all the time, failing to learn from history when charting the path for the future is equally a historical blunder.
Tarique Rahman stated that history bears witness that the defeated reactionary forces of November 7, 1975, following a long path of conspiracy, united under the banner of a "Grand Alliance" to reduce the country to a puppet state. By orchestrating a planned massacre of army officers at the BDR Pilkhana, they shattered the pride and dignity of the military. They stripped away citizens' voting rights and democratic political freedom to establish a fascist regime. Through the sacrifice of thousands of martyrs and a bloody mass uprising by brave students and citizens, the nation has finally been liberated from fascism after more than a decade and a half.
He stated that the war of 1971 was to achieve independence, while 2024 was to protect the freedom of the country and its people. Just as people from all walks of life took to the streets in 2024 to safeguard national independence, sepoys and citizens similarly united and took to the streets in 1975 to foil all plots against the nation's independence and sovereignty.
The Prime Minister noted that our primary pledge this November 7 must be to ensure that no one can ever again usurp the rights of the country and its people or reduce the nation to a puppet state.

Commemorating National Revolution and Solidarity Day, prominent journalist and former general secretary of the National Press Club, Syed Abdal Ahmad, stated that November 7 is a historic day in the political history of Bangladesh. A combined revolution of patriotic sepoys and citizens took place on this day in 1975. That great revolution thwarted all conspiracies of hegemonistic forces and consolidated the country's independence and sovereignty. Consequently, the day of November 7 shines brightly in the nation's history as National Revolution and Solidarity Day.
He stated that following the political shift of 1975, Bangladesh was virtually without a government on November 3, 4, and 5. During this period, conspirators kept army chief Major General Ziaur Rahman confined to his residence in the cantonment. However, the sepoy-people revolution that erupted on the night of November 6 shattered all conspiracies. After being confined for four days, Zia was freed. His voice rang out over the radio: "I am Zia speaking." In his address, he called upon everyone to unite and work hard to move the country forward. Ziaur Rahman’s brief, emotional, and timely speech on November 7 galvanized the nation's people.
Noted journalist and columnist Maruf Kamal Khan stated that November 7, 1975, was the most significant day in the political history of independent Bangladesh. The date shines resplendently in our national history as the Sepoy-People's Revolution and Solidarity Day.
Prominent journalist and columnist Gaziul Hasan Khan noted that November 7, 1975, marked a crucial turning point in the history of army commander and freedom fighter Ziaur Rahman's life and Bangladesh's future politics. The sepoy-people revolution of November 7 drew Ziaur Rahman—the proclaimer of our great independence and vanguard of the Liberation War—into national politics, placing him in the role of a great national savior during a difficult time.
