Mushfiqur Rahman Ifat, son from 2nd marriage of NBR official

A young man named Mushfiqur Rahman Ifat has been discussed on social media after buying a goat for 15 lakh taka on the occasion of Qurbani. He is the son of Dr. Md. Motiur Rahman, the president of National Board of Revenue's (NBR) Customs, Excise and VAT Appellate Tribunal.

His maternal uncle Abid revealed new information about the purchase of Ifat's goat. An account called AX Abid made a post about Ifat on Wednesday (June 19) night. In which he writes, ifat bought the goat for one of his maternal uncle, the American expatriate industrialist. He claimed that they had no contact with Ifat's father for three years.

In a long post about Ifat, Abid also writes, 'No one makes the good deeds of people to go viral.' Ifat won many awards for bird breeding. No one made him viral yet. I gave him an iPhone because I love him. He has two maternal uncles, one of whom owns hundreds of crores of Tk in Dubai. Since they don't have a son, his uncle fulfills all his hobbies. And the cars those pictures have given are selling one and buying another. His maternal uncle gives zakat more than this. The picture he gave as his father, is not his father. He has no relationship with his father for three years. So it is better not to hurt anyone without knowing anything.
Ifat has another maternal uncle in America. He is also an industrialist. Ifat bought the goat for him.

However, while searching Abid's Facebook post, sensational information has emerged. It is known that Abid is the cousin of Ifat's mother Shibli Begum. He is the accused in the murder of Chairman Ekramul Haque Ekram from Fulgazi Upazila of Feni. RAB arrested him from Dhaka within a few days of the murder. After being released on bail, fled to the Arab Emirates.

Locals say that none of Ifat's uncles live in America or Dubai. Locals also say that last few years ago, Ifat came to visit his grandfather's house with his mother.

On the other hand, it is known about NBR officer Motiur Rahmanthat he is Ifat's father. Motiur conducted two marriages. First wife's name is Laila Kaniz. Who is currently the Chairman of Raipura Upazila Parishad of Narsingdi. They have one son and one daughter. Motiur lives with his first wife and children in Bashundhara. Mushfiqur Rahman Ifat is the son of second wife Shammi Akhtar. Lives in Dhanmondi house and his mother lives in a flat in Kakrail. Ifat's another sister Farzana Rahman Ispita lives in Canada.

Ifat lives on the fifth floor of the Imperial Sultana Bhaban, Road No. 8, Dhanmondi in the capital. Imperial Sultana Bhaban's security staff said, Ifat left home on Tuesday and did not return.

Meanwhile, on Thursday (June 20), Member of Parliament for Feni-2 Constituency Nizam Uddin Hazari told the media that 'Ifat is the son of my cousin Shammi Akhtar Shibli. And Motiur Rahman is Ifat's father. That's true. Shammi Akhtar Shibli is the second marriage of NBR member Motiur Rahman. But now why he is denying his child, I don't know.'

On the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, Ifat bought a goat from Sadeeq Agro in Mohammadpur of the capital, and also bought cows worth Tk 70 lakh from at least seven farms and a market in Dhaka. Last year also bought animals worth 60 lakh taka.

However, because of controversy on Facebook, he did not take the goat he bought from Sadeeq Agro.

The owner of Sadeeq Agro, a high-breed animal dealer, also said that despite paying an advance of Tk 1 lakh to buy the goat, Ifat did not buy the goat in the end. The goat still waiting to be sold at the farm.

Meanwhile, after the goat incident went viral, revenue officer Motiur Rahman claimed that he has no relation with Ifat. But Member of Parliament of Feni-2 Constituency and District Awami League General Secretary Nizam Uddin Hazari told the media that Ifat is the child of his cousin. And Motiur Rahman is his father.

Injured participants from the uprising were also present at the program. Earlier, the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement announced plans to release the "July Proclamation" after the uprising. However, the organization withdrew this decision after the government declared its intent to issue the proclamation.

March for Unity / Family Members of Injured, Martyred Gather at Shaheed Minar

At the call of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, students, citizens, and families of the injured and martyrs of the uprising are gathering at Shaheed Minar to join the "March for Unity." Since Tuesday (31 December) morning, people from various parts of the country have started assembling at the Shaheed Minar area. During the gathering, students and citizens chanted slogans such as "Why are the killers free while my brothers are in the grave?" "Delhi or Dhaka, Dhaka," "Injustice will be swept away in a flood of blood,” “Abu Sayed, Mugdho, the battle is not over yet," and "Hang the killers, hang Hasina." Some were seen holding banners, placards, and flags as part of their preparation. Students and citizens from districts such as Chattogram, Natore, Panchagarh, and Sirajganj arrived early in the morning and took positions around Shaheed Minar and Dhaka University. During the July-August mass uprising, the Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir played a significant role as comrades by being present on the streets, providing advice, and assisting in critical steps. Sarjis Alam, the chief organizer of the National Citizens' Committee, made this statement while attending the member conference of Chhatra Shibir at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on Tuesday (December 31). This prominent organizer of the anti-discrimination student movement further stated, "Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir and many other individuals and organizations faced severe challenges under Sheikh Hasina's rule, which made it nearly impossible for them to live freely in independent Bangladesh. From our perspective, we want to say one thing: many of the narratives Sheikh Hasina tried to present about you and others are no longer believed by the current generation of Bangladesh. The present generation has enough conscience to identify and expel fascists." He also added, "The way we worked hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder, and even at the planning table, we will continue to work unitedly in the future, prioritizing the country's interests above all to build the Bangladesh of tomorrow."

Today, Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus paid rich tribute to former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who died last week.
