Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of the interim government, has presented the Independence Award 2025 to seven distinguished individuals for their remarkable contributions at the national level.

The award ceremony took place on Tuesday morning (March 25) at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka.

- Mir Abdus Shukur Al Mahmud (Posthumous) – Literature
- Novera Ahmed (Posthumous) – Culture
- Sir Fazle Hasan Abed (Posthumous) – Social Service
- Mohammad Mahbubul Haque Khan (Azam Khan) (Posthumous) – Liberation War and Culture
- Badruddin Mohammad Umar – Education and Research
- Abrar Fahad (Posthumous) – Protesting Youth
