The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations for 2025 are commencing simultaneously across the country today, Thursday (April 10th). The exams will begin at 10:00 AM and continue until 1:00 PM.
A total of 1,928,181 students have registered to participate in these examinations. The government has taken all necessary measures to ensure a fair, cheat-free, and positive environment for the exams.
The Ministry of Education has reported that under the nine general education boards, the total number of examinees is 1,490,142. Among them, 701,538 are male students and 788,604 are female students. There are 2,291 examination centers and 18,084 educational institutions involved.
Under the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board, a total of 294,726 students are participating. This includes 150,893 male students and 143,833 female students, taking place in 725 centers across 9,063 institutions.
The Bangladesh Technical Education Board has a total of 143,313 examinees, with 108,385 male students and 34,928 female students.
Professor Dr. Khondaker Ehsanul Kabir, Chairman of the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, stated that preparations are complete. "So far, we do not see any shortcomings. Law enforcement agencies, our monitoring teams, and those responsible in each board are vigilant," he added.
The boards have issued 14 directives for the 2025 SSC examinees:
- Examinees must take their seats in the examination hall 30 (thirty) minutes before the start of the examination.
- The examination must be conducted according to the time mentioned in the question paper.
- The multiple-choice question (MCQ) exam will be held first, followed by the creative/essay (theoretical) exam, with no break in between.
- Examinees must collect their admit cards from their respective heads of institutions at least three days before the start of the examination.
- For Physical Education, Health Science and Sports, and Career Education subjects, educational institutions will provide the marks obtained through continuous assessment, as per NCTB guidelines, to the concerned centers. The concerned centers will then send these continuous assessment marks online to the board's website along with the practical examination marks.
- Examinees must properly write and fill in the circles for their roll number, registration number, subject code, etc., on their answer sheet's OMR form. Under no circumstances should the answer sheet be folded.
- Examinees must pass separately in the creative/essay (theoretical), multiple-choice, and practical sections.
- Each examinee can only participate in the examination of the subject(s) mentioned in their registration card. Under no circumstances can they participate in the examination of a different subject.
- No examinee's examination (creative/essay (theoretical), multiple-choice, and practical) will be held at their own school/institution. Seating arrangements must be done through the transfer of examinees to other centers.
- Examinees will be allowed to use normal scientific calculators in the examination.
- Except for the center secretary, no other person/examinee can bring and use mobile phones in the examination center.
- The same attendance sheet must be used for the examinee's presence in the creative/essay (theoretical), multiple-choice, and practical examinations.
- Practical examinations will be held at their respective centers/venues.
- Applications for re-evaluation of results can be made online via SMS within 7 (seven) days of the publication of the results.
Furthermore, during the examination period, the entry of individuals other than the examinees and those involved in examination-related work is strictly prohibited in and around the examination centers before, during, and after the exams. Photocopy machines around the centers will remain closed during the examination period.
All coaching centers will be closed from April 10th to May 13th. Section 144 will be in effect around the examination centers during the examination period.
