Biman Bangladesh Airlines is temporarily suspending its regular flight operations on the Dhaka-Manchester-Dhaka route.

The decision was announced in a press release issued on Sunday (January 4) by Biman’s General Manager of Public Relations, Boshra Islam.

According to the Board of Directors' decision, the suspension will remain in effect until further notice.

The national carrier stated that regular flights on this route will be suspended starting February 1. The move comes in response to a shortage of aircraft and the need for additional flights to support the upcoming Hajj operations.

Furthermore, the strategic decision to reduce flights on the Manchester route was made to ensure long-term maintenance of existing aircraft and to optimize Biman’s fleet usage across its entire network.

To ensure travel remains uninterrupted for affected passengers, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has offered several alternatives. The press release noted that interested passengers could opt for Biman’s alternative flights on the Dhaka-London-Dhaka route.

Additionally, passengers have the option to change their travel dates according to their needs. Those who choose not to travel will be eligible for a ticket refund in accordance with Biman’s existing policies.

Expressing sincere regret for the temporary inconvenience, the state-owned airline stated that a decision regarding the resumption of the Manchester route will be announced as soon as the situation normalizes.
