A total of 55,454 local observers from 81 registered organizations and approximately 500 foreign observers will monitor the upcoming 13th National Parliament Election and the concurrent constitutional referendum.

The information was shared by Election Commissioner Brigadier General (Retd.) Abul Fazal Md. Sanaullah during a briefing for heads of diplomatic missions and UN representatives at the Hotel Westin in Dhaka on Sunday (January 25).

Key Election Statistics
During the briefing, the Election Commissioner provided several critical figures regarding the upcoming polls:

• Political Parties: 51 political parties are participating in the election.
• Total Candidates: 1,994 candidates are in the fray.
• Independent Candidates: 256 individuals are contesting independently.
• Local Monitoring: 55,454 observers from 81 registered domestic agencies.

International Monitoring: Approximately 500 foreign observers and journalists are expected.

Voting Details
The Election Commission (EC) confirmed that the 13th National Parliament Election and the referendum will take place on February 12.

• Time: Voting will be held from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM without any break.
• Method: The election will be conducted using paper ballots and transparent ballot boxes.
