Prime Minister Tarique Rahman stated today that his government has officially begun its journey with the core objective of establishing the Bangladesh envisioned by the nation’s martyrs.

The Prime Minister made these remarks in the formal inspection book at the National Martyrs' Memorial in Savar at 11:00 AM on Wednesday (February 18), just one day after being sworn into office.

Reflections in the Inspection Book
After paying his respects to the heroes of the 1971 Liberation War, the Prime Minister shared his sentiments in writing. His entry began with "Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim" and expressed gratitude to the Almighty.

He further noted:

Tribute to 1971: A humble salute to the martyrs of the 1971 Liberation War whose sacrifices birthed an independent Bangladesh.

Tribute to 2024: Deep respect for those who sacrificed their lives in the 2024 struggle to protect the freedom of the country and its people, as well as all martyrs of the historic movements for democracy.

A Government of Purpose
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman emphasized that the ultimate goal of the martyrs was a safe, humane, democratic, independent, and sovereign Bangladesh. He affirmed that his administration has started working specifically to realize those goals and prayed for the divine strength to implement every program promised to the public.

Unprecedented Security Measures
In light of the visit by the Prime Minister and the newly formed Cabinet, a stringent three-tier security system was enforced at the memorial area:

Joint Command: Members of the Police, RAB, and the Army coordinated the security operation.

Surveillance: Intelligence monitoring was heightened on the highways, and the entire memorial complex was placed under 24/7 CCTV coverage.

Special Units: Dog squads and bomb disposal units conducted sweeps and rehearsals to ensure total safety.

This visit marks the first major official act of Tarique Rahman following his inauguration on Tuesday (February 17).
