Following the 13th National Parliamentary Election, the newly formed government held its first cabinet meeting on Wednesday (February 18).

Chaired by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at Building No. 1 of the Secretariat, the high-level session focused on immediate governance goals and public welfare.

The Prime Minister announced a special 180-day "Roadmap" or action plan, instructing every ministry to work on a priority basis.

The primary objective of this plan is to deliver visible progress that reflects the massive public mandate received by the new administration.

Key Directives for Ramadan and Public Relief
Uninterrupted Power: The Prime Minister issued strict orders to ensure no power outages occur during Sehri, Iftar, and Tarawih prayers throughout the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.

Market Control: A stern message was sent to officials to break "market syndicates" and stabilize the prices of essential commodities to provide relief to the common man.

Eid Travel: Early preparations were ordered to ensure citizens can travel home for Eid-ul-Fitr without harassment or delays.

Zero Tolerance and Social Welfare
State Minister for Labour and Employment, Md. Nurul Huq Nur, briefed journalists after the meeting, stating that the Prime Minister has mandated a "Zero Tolerance" policy against corruption.

The PM emphasized that nepotism or the abuse of power at any level of administration will not be tolerated.

In line with pre-election pledges, the Prime Minister directed the immediate rollout of:

• Family Cards, Farmers' Cards, and Health Cards.
• Special initiatives for the welfare of Imams and Muazzins.
• Expansion of new labor markets in the Middle East.

Governance and Media Reform
State Minister for Finance and Planning, Md. Zonayed Saki, informed the press that the government will soon present the full 180-day roadmap to the nation. He also noted that work has begun on a Media Commission aimed at comprehensive media reforms.

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obayed and PM's Advisor Zahedur Rahman also received specific directives regarding their respective departments during the session.
