Mostakur Rahman Appointed as New Governor of Bangladesh Bank

In a major shake-up at the central bank, Mostakur Rahman has been appointed as the new Governor of Bangladesh Bank, replacing Ahsan H. Mansur.

The announcement was confirmed on Wednesday (February 25).

Prior to this appointment, Mostakur Rahman served as a Director at Bangladesh Bank, a position he was promoted to in May 2024 from his role as Additional Director.

His career also includes significant experience as the Additional Director of the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU).
