Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has called upon the nation to work unitedly, keeping the core objectives of independence at the forefront of all national efforts.

The Prime Minister made this appeal in a message shared on his verified Facebook profile on Wednesday (March 25), extending greetings to the people on the occasion of Independence Day.

Reflecting on the historical significance of the day, he stated, "March 26 is a glorious and historic day in our national life. On this day, I remember with deep respect the finest sons of the soil, whose sacrifices earned us an independent and sovereign Bangladesh. I also remember with profound gratitude the brave freedom fighters, the mothers and sisters who suffered, and all those who dedicated themselves to the struggle for independence. I pray for the eternal peace of the souls of all the martyrs."

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman emphasized that the spirit of Independence Day revitalizes courage, sacrifice, and patriotism. "The primary goal of independence was to establish a discrimination-free, democratic, peaceful, and prosperous Bangladesh. With that goal in mind, we must all work unitedly to move the country forward."

He further stressed the importance of national unity and mutual tolerance in accelerating the nation's progress. "To strengthen the trend of development in our beloved motherland, we must cherish the spirit of patriotism and national unity in our hearts."

Concluding his message, the Prime Minister urged citizens to dedicate themselves to the welfare of the country from their respective positions. "Let us work collectively to build a developed, prosperous, and dignified Bangladesh, drawing inspiration from the significance of this Great Independence and National Day."

The Prime Minister also expressed his best wishes for the success of all programs organized to mark the occasion.
