President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman attended the Independence and National Day parade on Thursday (March 26).

Arriving at the National Parade Ground at 10:00 AM, the top leaders took the salute at the ceremonial march-past.

The traditional March 26 parade has returned to the National Day celebrations after a gap of 18 years.

The event showcased the nation’s defense capabilities with active participation from the Army, Navy, and Air Force in both ground and aerial displays.

Law enforcement agencies also joined the ranks, with the main parade commencing following the mounted entry of the Parade Commander, Major General Asadul Haque, GOC of the 9th Infantry Division.

Highlights of the Parade
This year’s ceremony featured a diverse array of contingents, including:

Ground Forces: Armored, Artillery, Signals, East Bengal Regiment, Air Defense, Services, and modernized Infantry units.

Special Forces: Highly trained Para-Commandos showcased their maneuvers.

Aerial Displays: Paratroopers carrying the National Flag descended onto the grounds, followed by strategic flight demonstrations by the Air Force.

The ceremony is set to conclude with a high-speed flypast by MiG-29 fighter jets, offering a final salute to the President.
