Voting for the postponed Sherpur-3 constituency in the 13th National Parliamentary Election, along with the by-election for Bogra-6, is currently underway.

Polling began at 7:30 AM on Thursday (April 9). According to the schedule announced by the Election Commission (EC), voting will continue without a break until 4:30 PM using paper ballots and transparent ballot boxes.

The Contenders
In the Bogra-6 by-election, the main contestants include:

• Rezaul Karim Badsha (BNP)
• Abidur Rahman Sohel (Jamaat-e-Islami)
• Al Amin Talukdar (Bangladesh Development Party)

In the Sherpur-3 constituency, the candidates are:

• Mahmudul Haque Rubel (BNP)
• Masudur Rahman (Jamaat-e-Islami)
• Mizanur Rahman (Socialist Party of Bangladesh-Marxist)

Security and Administration
Bogra district election officials confirmed that two Judicial Magistrates and 20 Executive Magistrates are on duty. A total of 2,655 officials are managing the polling process.

To maintain law and order, a multi-tier security blanket has been deployed, consisting of:

• 1,382 Police personnel
• Approx. 2,000 Ansar members
• 8 Platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB)
• 10 Platoons of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)
• Army units and Dog Squads

Out of 151 polling centers in Bogra-6, 53 have been identified as "vulnerable," with five classified as "highly vulnerable," requiring special security measures.

Voter Turnout and Logistics
The Sherpur-3 constituency, spanning 17 unions and one municipality across two upazilas, has 413,377 registered voters. Polling is being conducted across 128 centers and 751 booths.

Among these centers, 27 have been marked as "highly important" (critically vulnerable), 32 as "important," and 69 as "general" centers.
