Prime Minister Tarique Rahman declared that his administration is committed to absolute transparency, stating there is "no room for secrecy" in their actions. He made these remarks while addressing a massive public rally at the historic Altafunnessa Playground in Bogura on Monday afternoon.

The Prime Minister noted that following the liberation of the country from autocracy on August 5, the interim government established several reform commissions.

"On behalf of the people, we have submitted our transparent proposals to those commissions," he said. "In a democracy, differences of opinion are inevitable, but our ultimate goal remains the development of the nation."

This visit marked his first trip to his home district since assuming office. Accompanied by his wife, Dr. Zubaida Rahman, the Prime Minister arrived at the rally stage at 5:45 PM. During the visit, he officially inaugurated Bogura as the country's 13th City Corporation.

A Vision for Reform and Accountability
Reflecting on the political landscape, the Prime Minister highlighted the Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s (BNP) early commitment to change.

"When other political parties lacked the courage to even mention the word 'reform' for fear of the autocrat, the BNP presented its 31-point reform program," he said.

He criticized the previous administration for bringing health, education, banking, and communication sectors to the brink of collapse, alleging that "mega-projects" were used as tools for looting and corruption.

Economic and Agricultural Initiatives
Outlining the government’s steps to improve the lives of citizens, the PM confirmed that promises made by the BNP are being implemented systematically. Key initiatives include:

Social Safety Nets: Implementation of Family Cards, Farmer Cards, and honorariums for Imams and Muazzins.

Employment: Negotiations with various countries to facilitate low-cost overseas employment opportunities for the youth.

Infrastructure: A nationwide revival of the "Canal Digging Program" pioneered by the late President Ziaur Rahman. The government plans to excavate 20,000 kilometers of canals over the next five years to safeguard crops and manage water during droughts.

A Day of Inaugurations
The Prime Minister arrived in Bogura by road from Dhaka on Monday morning. His packed schedule included:

• Inaugurating a new building at the District Judge Court and launching the "e-Bail Bond" system.
• Unveiling the plaque for the newly formed Bogura City Corporation.
• Visiting his ancestral home in Bagbari, Gabtali.
• Launching the National Vaccination Program, Family Card distribution, and canal digging activities at the Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Village Hospital.

After inaugurating the new Bogura Press Club building in the evening, the Prime Minister departed for Dhaka.
