PM Tarique Rahman to Visit Dhaka University Today

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to visit Dhaka University today, Tuesday (May 12), to inaugurate a national workshop organized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) focusing on the development and sustainable transformation of Bangladesh's higher education system.

The day-long workshop will be held at the Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban. This marks Tarique Rahman's first official program at the university since assuming office as Prime Minister.

Mohammad Jaminur Rahman, Director of the UGC’s Public Relations and Publication Division, confirmed that Education Minister Dr. A.N.M. Ehsanul Hoque Milan and the Prime Minister’s Education Affairs Adviser Mahdi Amin will attend as special guests. The event will be presided over by UGC Chairman Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed.

Commemorating his arrival on campus on the 85th day of his premiership, leaders and activists of the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) have planted 85 medicinal trees along the route from Banglamotor to the Shahbagh intersection. JCD Central Committee Vice-President Towhidur Rahman Auwal attended the planting program as the chief guest to welcome the Prime Minister and BNP Chairman.
